Surgical or Perioperative Home Dear SAAA Members, In view of recent healthcare reform, you may have recently heard discussions that ASA is supporting the notion of a “surgical or perioperative home” for surgical or procedural care, analagous to the “medical home” model for chronic disease management.  As such, who better than anesthesiologists to take a leadership role in this concept development and implementation?  To that end, CMS, through CMMI, is making grant money available for these new future models of healthcare delivery.  Please note the short timeline, with letters of intent due mid December and grant applications due in January.
